Quality
Connecting Denver's families with high-quality preschool is our mission. In keeping with this mission, the Denver Preschool Program pays for all participating programs to be quality-rated so that Denver's families can have access to the best information possible when choosing the right preschool for their child.
Currently, the Denver Preschool Program partners with Qualistar Colorado to assess preschools and to assign all participating classrooms with a quality rating that ranges from 0-4 stars. To learn more about the Qualistar rating tool, please click here.
Participating preschools may also choose to be nationally accredited through either the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) or the National Association of Family Child Care (NAFCC). Such programs receive an automatic 4-star rating for NAEYC-accreditation and an automatic 3-star rating for NAFCC-accreditation.
Please note: While quality ratings are important, nothing beats getting out there and visiting preschools. You know your child best, and without paying a visit to a specific location, it's very difficult to judge whether that will be the right location for your child.
