Gap Scholarship Task Force

February 209:30 AM - February 2011:30 AM

In 2017, DPP’s Board of Directors adopted a strategic goal to identify and serve 4-year-olds, especially those with highest need, not already engaged with DPP. The Gap Scholarship Task Force (GSTF) is charged with developing and exploring options that strengthen the impact of the Denver Preschool Program’s (DPP) resources in addressing access and affordability to preschool, and making recommendations to the DPP board of directors. Specifically, we will explore the option of a gap scholarship, which has been previously researched, as a pathway to address affordability, as well as consider other options and possibilities that could meet affordability and access needs for future program years. By the conclusion of this task force, a Gap Scholarship approach for 19-20 (potentially with earlier pilot) will be presented to the board for approval, along with strategies for the next 2-3 years to meet priorities identified through this process.
