Benefits, strategies, and methodologies to lead a successful multilingual & multicultural classroom
Description: Did you know that schools that truly embrace multilingualism & multiculturalism report higher levels of community engagement & academic achievement across the board? To do this, school leaders need to adapt material to the language needs of students & parents & celebrate their cultures.
In this session, you’ll learn hands-on easy, step by step strategies for working with children who are dual language learners, as well as working with families even when you don’t speak their first language. But how do you begin to teach & communicate in a language you don't speak? How can you make sure that you can meet everyone's needs using the same curriculum you have already developed? And once you are able to understand how to go about it, how can you make your lessons engaging, interactive, & fun yet meaningful for everyone in your classroom? We will discuss the benefits of embracing multilingualism & multiculturalism in a multilingual classroom & provide you with strategies & methodologies for adding foreign language to your classroom curriculum. With more than a decade of experience as an early childhood teacher, & language business owner, we will share with you easy ways to add language learning & cultural understanding into your daily routine.
