St. Rose de Lima is the first EL Catholic School in the nation in a PreK through 8th grade learning environment. Philosophy and Purpose The St. Rose's preschool curriculum is designed to address the total development of the three- and four-year-old child. They address the cognitive, social, emotional, physical and sensory motor development. Their goal is to help each child develop a lasting relationship with Jesus as we work, play, explore, inquire, and learn together. We want our preschool experience to prepare our students to be successful life-long learners. Preschool Course of Instruction The basic program in preschool includes: religion, language, mathematics, personal-social development, social studies, media-art, music, science, and sensory-motor development. The basic program in pre-kindergarten includes: religion, communication and language arts, mathematics, self, family and community, science, art, physical education, music and rhythm and technology. The underlying instructional strategy in preschool and pre-kindergarten is the use of organized and free-play activities that are intended to provide opportunities for the child to interact, explore and relate successfully in his/her environment.
