Only submit a tuition credit application if your 4-year-old has been accepted to a preschool program outside of Denver Public Schools (DPS).
Denver families who enroll their 4-year-old in a DPS preschool program must sign up for tuition support through the SchoolChoice application.
The Head Start Program is a federally-funded comprehensive preschool program for children ages 3-5 years old and their families. There is no charge for the program, but families must meet income guidelines in order to participate. Classes operate August through May, 3 ½ hours per day in either the morning or the afternoon, Monday through Thursday of each week. Children receive high-quality early education services, as well as two meals each day, referrals for affordable health care, and special educational support if needed. The families also receive support services and have access to many community agencies that provide help with food, housing, clothing, education, and job training.
