Enroll in a preschool and save on preschool costs

Once you choose a preschool that’s right for your family and your child, follow the steps to apply for preschool. Depending on the time of year that you choose to enroll your child in a preschool, you may need to apply for Colorado Universal Preschool (also known as Colorado UPK), then accept your desired preschool, enroll in that preschool, and then apply for funding from Denver Preschool Program.

DPP tuition savings are already included in the Denver Public Schools enrollment process, so you will not need to apply separately. If you choose to enroll your child in a non-DPS school, you may need to apply for DPP tuition credits after you enroll in that preschool.

Learn more about how to apply for Colorado UPK and DPP tuition support, which is expected to be the same process for the ‘26’-27 school year as it was for the ‘25-’26 school year.

DPP’s step-by-step guide to applying for tuition assistance from Colorado UPK and Denver Preschool Program outlines exactly how to find preschools and save on preschool costs.

Yes, preschool has consistently been shown to be worth the cost. Research shows that preschool helps children be more successful in school and throughout their lives.
