Denver families who enroll their 4-year-old in a DPS preschool program must sign up for tuition support through the SchoolChoice application.

Language and Literacy Development for both monolingual and dual-language learners, presented by Dr. Cristina Gillanders will be the topic for this year’s Forum.
The four-part series will be held from 8:30 a.m. to noon on the following Saturdays:

Dr. Gillanders is an Associate Professor of Early Childhood Education at the University of Colorado Denver, and we’re delighted to share that attendees who want to extend their learning beyond the trainings will have the opportunity to receive coaching and/or college credit by completing assignments related to the Forum throughout the year. We are pleased to share with you our 2017 Annual Report. In the latest report, we celebrate our most recent accomplishments towards making preschool possible for every child in Denver. During the 2016-2017 school year, DPP distributed $14 million in tuition credits to 4,709 preschool students and nearly $1.9 million in quality improvement investments to 251 preschools; strengthened our tuition credit scale and increased it for the 2018-2019 school year by 10.7 percent; and welcomed our 50,000th student since DPP’s inception. Thank you to all directors and teachers who applied for the fall 2018 DPP T.E.A.C.H. Early Childhood® Scholarship. We were inspired by the deep commitment to early childhood education expressed by the applicants in their personal statements and we awarded 25 new scholarships as follows:
-11 lead teachers; eight assistant teachers; six directors/assistant directors
-Two working at schools in far northeast Denver; 12 working in near northeast Denver; five in northwest Denver; one in southeast Denver; and five in southwest Denver
-Six associates degree scholarships; five bachelor’s degree scholarships; 14 Pathway to Credential scholarships
