There’s an exciting opportunity for families utilizing Family, Friend, and Neighbor (FFN) providers for childcare, but you must apply soon–the deadline is November 17, 2025. Gary Community Ventures has launched the Childcare Affordability Pilot (CAP), which is a small test program designed to help families pay for childcare.

Families who participate can receive between $500 to $1,400 each month to cover childcare costs; the funds are placed in an account that can then be used to pay childcare providers directly.

Gary Community Ventures is a Denver-based nonprofit that works to build a stronger, more affordable childcare system in Colorado through programs like MyFriendBenMySpark, and COVIDCheck Colorado. CAP is anticipated to run through June 30, 2026.

Who Can Apply for the Childcare Affordability Pilot?

  • Families living in Colorado with children under the age of 3
  • Families who meet income eligibility guidelines
  • Families not currently receiving CCCAP or similar childcare assistance
  • Families using—or wishing to use—Family, Friend, and Neighbor (FFN) caregivers

How Can Families Apply for the Program?

The application period is between November 10 and 17, 2025. Families can estimate the amount they may receive, learn about requirements to participate, and apply online at www.capcolorado.org.

FFN providers wishing to participate in the program will also need to apply online here.

Up to 50 families will be selected to participate in the pilot program.
